Off Shore Outsourcing

It goes without saying that the freelance economy is increasingly important. Digital nomads are integral in anyone’s business today; they certainly are in mine. Business owners are increasingly becoming solopreneurs and I know from experience that it’s no small feat to take on running a business on your own. This is why the freelance economy is now booming. Firstly, solopreneurs are hiring assistants, specialists, and consultants without worrying about the responsibility of full-time employment. Secondly, businesses on a budget are getting extra hands on deck as and when they are needed.

So how does this relate to Fiverr? Well, Fiverr is an online marketplace for freelance services, and it’s shaping the future of work, every day, by shifting the freelance economy online. The Fiverr platform connects businesses with countless skilled freelancers offering digital services in over 400 categories. In this blog post, I am going to delve into some of my favourite aspects of using Fiverr, and I’m confident that in time, they will be your favourite things too!

The Key Functions Of Fiverr

Founded in 2010, Fiverr is the world’s most transacted marketplace for digital services. Buyers can choose from the world’s largest catalog of pre-packaged services without haggling over the service deliverables or the price! These services include graphic design, digital marketing, programming, video, and animation, to name just a few. You can pretty much find whatever service your business might be looking for!

Originally on Fiverr, all services were $5 (hence the name!) However, Fiverr now enables prices of up to $500 for services from its freelance sellers. This means that buyers can benefit from a wider range of services, and won’t have to visit another platform within the freelance economy. And the sellers get an opportunity to make some more cash for their skills. Win-win for everyone.

For me, my personal favourite things about using this platform are the following:

  • The speed at which you can hire someone.
  • It’s wide-reaching pool of talent with reviews for work available.
  • Reasonable prices that haven’t skimmed on quality.
  • It’s extra layer of protection- Fiverr holds the buyer’s payment as well as the seller’s work.

Arguably, there are also risks when using this online marketplace. Many would say that working alongside someone you haven’t met has its disadvantages and you might not be totally happy with the final product. All I can say is that hasn’t been my experience. And for me, the benefits of this online freelance economy far outweigh the risk.

A Freelance Economy Is Our Future

In the past, a small business employer would have to employ multi-disciplined people. You needed people who could turn their hands to anything, especially in a small start-up business. The problem with this was that no one was a master in any one particular field. Now, with the freelance economy booming, you can hire an expert for the day or even just a few hours! You can hire who you want, when you want, and for as long as you want. This is where Fiverr comes in. It’s super easy to find an expert in any given field, see what their deliverables are, what their cost is, and reach out to them.

The great thing about Fiverr is that everyone leaves a review for their past work. Therefore, you can see feedback for each professional and make an informed choice before giving them a gig. Of course, communication is key and it’s important that you set down clear precise instructions before they start. Remember the freelancer will not be in the same building as you. You need to clearly define the expectations along with the outcomes!

That said, not being in the same building has its benefits. With the freelance economy now predominantly being online thanks to Fiverr, there’s a lot you don’t have to consider. No longer will you need to calculate employment costs such as office space, IT equipment, pension, and PAYE as part of your overheads.

In summary, it is a very useful platform for anyone looking to work with freelancers. It is a one-stop shop for business owners who are looking to get the job done.
